Ethics

In the production of this documentary, there are certain ethical considerations I am taking into place. With section 5 of the Ofcom code stating the need for due impartiality, looking to balance out the views presented on the documentary has been an important part of the process so far.

Differing views are presented on the overall health of grassroots football in the piece, which was an important element in creating a balance.

Giving little thought to having opposing views when debating an issue would be misleading for listeners, and only cause more confusion on the subject.

Truth and accuracy is also an important ethic taken into consideration during this process so far, with a planned usage of statistics and figures in the piece from only reputable sources. Due accuracy is also covered under section 5 of the Ofcom guidelines.

Using well researched statistics is important as the aim of the documentary is to remain informative, as opposed to distorting the facts and misleading the listeners.
