Editing is well underway for the documentary, and with it, different challenges have arose, such as the choice of music. Listening to past 5 Live documentaries, an uplifting tone of music is adopted in order to introduce the piece, and therefore I feel it is important to adopt this in my documentary.
My options are also limited to a great extent in the fact that the music must be copyright free, however I have found a track that looks to reflect a positive tone that is being used at the moment, whether a better track is found remains yet to be seen.
In looking to create an atmosphere of grassroots football, I have been considering where it is best to include elements of wildtrack. The wildtrack is recordings of non league matches happening, which gives a nice background, as it gives a sense of what grassroots football is all about, cold, outdoors, shouting (often using footballing terms that seem like a different language).
The main question has been where this type of sound fits in best, and I feel that having it played along with each of my voice clips gives more life to them. However there may be a potential issue with the sounds becoming too frequent and overall taking something away from the piece as a result.
Deciding which parts of the interviews to include has also proven difficult as it is important to keep the piece flowing and remain on point throughout. 6 minutes of the documentary have been completed but I am still in the process of considering how it should be concluded.
The final product should be complete in the next couple of days, with the visual element also set to be uploaded onto the blog soon.
